A delicate study of a single pink rose, loosely drawn and painted with an expressive, almost sketchbook quality. Fine black lines define the flower, stem and leaves, while soft washes of pink, green and blue give the image a lightness and spontaneity.

The rose emerging from a simple glass vessel is set against a largely untouched background, allowing the shape and colour of the flower to become the clear focus. The generous negative space gives the composition a particularly calm and contemporary feel.

Presented as a 490 × 350 mm canvas print in a black stain tray frame, creating a strong, clean edge around the softer and more delicate artwork.
